It has been far too long since the last time that I blogged.
I
am honestly surprised that I can see the screen to type right now
because I have been writing IEPs for the last 2.5 hours and I am
starting to glaze over. Not to mention the other random hours I have
put in over that last few days.
I decided to take a little break because well....I was getting a little overwhelmed, a little depressed, and a little bored.
Yes,
special education is my life, and teaching has filled a void I didn't
know I had until I got into it, but writing IEP's for the upcoming
school year is well.....strenuous, and exhausting, and overwhelming, and
boring, and crazy, and time consuming, and well HARD!!!
It
is very hard to get into the mindset to write an IEP for one child, but
when it comes to writing them for your entire case load for the
upcoming year, well it can turn any sane person into a crazed, tired,
extremely ill human being. I have tried writing the most part of them
over this spring break. That hasn't worked out too well because I am
very easily distracted by the T.V., the teenagers that live in my home,
trips to the store, lunch dates with friends and mostly today small
pieces of lint have even distracted me!
I know I will
get them all done, and I know that when I am finished I will be ever so
grateful that I didn't wait until the last minute to write them, you
know 5 minutes before the actual IEP meeting??? But as for now....I am
allowing a little Facebook time, and Pinterest time, and well any thing
time distract me....
