Yabba-Dabba-Who???

Part of the Cosby Clan was driving down the road the other day (Philly, Myself, and Hailey-Bug) and a commercial came on 95.1 The Fox.  It ended with that well known phrase Yabba Dabba Doooooo from the Flintstones......Well it was what I thought was well known.....

Hailey spoke up from the backseat....."What did he say?  Yabba-Dabba-What?"

Philly and I looked at each other.  I started smiling.

Philly said "You know Hailey, from the Flintstones.  Yabba-Dabba-Dooo!!!"

Hailey said "Who are the Flintstones?"

I started laughing...."The Flintstones was a cartoon that was on when we were little.  It was about a family that lived when the dinosaurs were alive.  You have never seen the Flintstones? There was a people movie that came out a while back too!  You've never seen it either?"

Hailey said "I have no idea what you are talking about!!!"

Philly and I just died out laughing....

It never ceases to amaze me the things that were constants in our lives growing up seem to be a disappearing act in today's time.  There have been several things that I have had to explain to Hailey, Tyler and Coleman that were normal every day occurrences in mine and Phil's childhood.

For example:

Joking with Hailey about daisy dukes....

"What are daisy dukes?" LOL

Or....

Coleman's response to the new and improved Charlie's Angel tv series....

"You mean they are going to try and make a tv show out of that terrible movie?"

Phil's response....

"It was a TV show before the movie..."

Coleman's look of utter amazement....."Really?"

Phil's other comment...."So was Hawaii Five-O"

Coleman's other response....and another look of amazement...."Really?"

In looking back and remembering the shows that graced our TV's growing up, I can't decide which is worse....the fact that our children don't get to see these shows, or the fact that they will remember the re-make versions.....
